  • Revelation 13 (Part 1) The Amalgamated Beast

Revelation 13:1-2 - And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.  And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.   Daniel’s vision recorded in Daniel chapter 7 tells us that he saw the four winds of heaven striving upon the great sea. What is the prophetic meaning of winds? Winds represent strife, war, or conflict. Jeremiah 49:36 -  And upon Elam will I bring the four winds from the four quarters of heaven, and will scatter them toward all those winds; and there shall be no nation whither the outcasts of Elam shall not come.   A comparison of Daniel 7:3-8 and the beast in Revelation 13:1-10 bears similarities. Daniel 7:23 prophetically defined a beast as a kingdom. Both Daniel and John also saw political systems and leaders that they described using the term "Beast". In Revelation 13 verse one John sees this beast coming up "out of the sea."   What is the prophetic significance of sea? Rev. 17: 15 - And He saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.  What is the meaning of heads and horns ? Rev. 17:9-  And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.   Dan. 7:24a - And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them.  Crown on the head signifies leadership position.    What does Daniel 11:36-39 say about this individual? And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvellous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done. 37 Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all. 38 But in his estate shall he honour the God of forces: and a god whom his fathers knew not shall he honour with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things. 39 Thus shall he do in the most strong holds with a strange god, whom he shall acknowledge and increase with glory: and he shall cause them to rule over many, and shall divide the land for gain.     An antichrist is someone who denies the existence, position, authority and leadership of Christ but the Scriptures tell us about one who will be the evillest of all.   The Antichrist of all antichrists will multiply all the previous acts of blasphemy and create an ethos which will influence the populace to reject God and everything which is godly. He will exalt himself "over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God's Temple, proclaiming himself to be God" This evil personage will be a master of deceit even in the religious realm. His exposure is near because the New World Order is being enacted swiftly.    Let us examine the Beasts Greece- The Leopard Kingdom   Leopard-like beast (331-168 B.C.) - Dan. 7:6 -A fter this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl; the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it.   The belly & thigh of brass in the image of Daniel 2 and the leopard of Dan.7  and the he-goat of Dan. 8 represent the Grecian kingdom led by Alexander. Alexander the Great, king of Macedonia was the son of Philip and Olympias and is said to have been born at Pella B.C. 356, and succeeded his father B.C. 336. The wings signify the speed by which he conquered the then world and also how his kingdom would be divided.   At the height of its power after the conquest of the entire Persian Empire, the empire encompassed millions of square miles spanning three continents: Asia, Africa and Europe.   Greece is called "Javan" Genesis 10:2. The Greek empire included the entire ruins of the Persian Empire: modern territories of Iran, Turkey, parts of Central Asia, Pakistan, Thrace and Macedonia, much of the Black Sea coastal regions, Afghanistan, Iraq, northern Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Israel, Lebanon, Syria, and ancient Egypt as far west as Libya. Alexander caused Hellenism to be predominant everywhere he conquered.  · The boundaries of the Empire of Greece around 323 BC        were as follows: 1. North: Albania, North Macedonia, and Bulgaria 2. West: The Ionian Sea, which separated Greece from Italy 3. East: Turkey 4. South: Mediterranean Sea   When Alexander died there was much commotion before his kingdom was divided among four of  his generals. Dan. 8: 21-22- And the rough goat is the king of Grecia: and the great horn that is between his eyes is the first king. Now that being broken, whereas four stood up for it, four kingdoms shall stand up out of the nation, but not in his power.   Traits of the Leopard kingdom: (1) engaged in high level human trafficking, (2) believe that everyone should obey their religious and cultural practices (3) worshipped rulers as gods (4) engaged in magic because the people consulted oracles, and used charms and idols to deter misfortune or to cast spells. During this era much focus was placed on Astrology as people seek divination through the movements of the sun, moon and planets. Mede & Persians - The Bear Kingdom   Feet of a bear (538-331 B.C.). Dan. 7: 5 -  And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh.  Dan. 8: 20 - The ram which thou sawest having two horns are the kings of Media and Persia.   The first Persian Empire took control of the Middle East after the fall of the Babylonian Empire. It is also called the Achaemenid Empire and they worshiped a fire god, Zoroaster. It is also represented as the breast and arm of silver on the image in Daniel 2. From 539BC to 331BC, the Persian Empire was the most powerful state in the world. It ruled from Persia (now Iran)  and governed from Egypt to India. It had rich resources of water, fertile farmland, and gold.   The bear was raised higher on one side because at first the Medes were stronger than the Persians then later the Persians superseded the Medes. The 3 ribs in the bear's mouth are believed to symbolize the 3 countries which Medo-Persia conquered while creating an empire.  These countries were Lydia, Babylonia, and Egypt.   Traits of the Bear kingdom: Persian rulers were proud and thought themselves infallible and do not change their laws. They took the title of “King of Kings” and demanded total obedience from their subjects. King Darius divided the empire into 20 provinces and province was ruled by a governor, called a SATRAP. A bear is a very intelligent predatory animal which generally keeps to itself, but becomes dangerous if you get into its way or it thinks you are a threat to it.  A bear is forceful because it claws and bites.  Babylon - The Lion Kingdom   Mouth of a lion. Dan. 7:4a 4 The first was like a lion, and had eagle's wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth (606- 538 B.C.) A lion, is a fitting symbol of Babylon. The Old Testament prophets called Babylon a lion. Jeremiah 51:37-38 -   And Babylon shall become heaps, a dwellingplace for dragons, an astonishment, and an hissing, without an inhabitant. They shall roar together like lions: they shall yell as lions' whelps. A lion with eagle’s wings was a prominent symbol on Babylonian coins and on Babylon’s walls. The lion which is called the king of the jungle and an eagle which is the chief of birds compose a fitting description of Babylon.   Traits of the Lion kingdom: The emperor is worshipped as god. They engage in high level idolatry and expects everyone to adopt their idolatrous lifestyles. They act with a sense of superiority, amass wealth and disregard persons who they think are not in their league. Babylonians acted viciously, were unmerciful, proud, high-minded and very ungodly and boastful yet they were intelligent and strategical.   How did/will the beast get its power? Rev. 13:2b   In  538 A.D. Emperor  Justinian's Decree of the supremacy of the Bishop of Rome over the Church began the prophetic 1260 years of temporal rule by the Roman church. As emperor he had the power to disperse and establish authority. the Indescribable Beast -The fourth beast This is the final kingdom is termed the indescribable beast because it possesses the characteristics of the other three kingdoms. In 538 A.D. Emperor Justinian's Decree of the supremacy of the Bishop of Rome over the Church began the prophetic 1260 years of temporal rule by the Roman church. As emperor he had the power to disperse and establish authority.    A portion of the Justinian’s laws THE CODE OF OUR LORD THE MOST SACRED EMPEROR JUSTINIAN. SECOND EDITION. BOOK 1. TITLE 1. CONCERNING THE MOST EXALTED TRINITY AND THE CATHOLIC FAITH AND PROVIDING THAT NO ONE SHALL DARE TO PUBLICLY OPPOSE THEM.    1.  The Emperors Gratian, Valentinian, and Theodosius to the people of the City of Constantinople.    We desire that all peoples subject to Our benign Empire shall live under the same religion that the Divine Peter, the Apostle, gave to the Romans, and which the said religion declares was introduced by himself, and which it is well known that the Pontiff Damascus, and Peter, Bishop of Alexandria, a man of apostolic sanctity, embraced; that is to say, in accordance with the rules of apostolic discipline and the evangelical doctrine, we should believe that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit constitute a single Deity, endowed with equal majesty, and united in the Holy Trinity.    (1) We order all those who follow this law to assume the name of Catholic Christians, and considering others as demented and insane, We order that they shall bear the infamy of heresy; and when the Divine vengeance which they merit has been appeased, they shall afterwards be punished in accordance with Our resentment, which we have acquired from the judgment of Heaven.     Dated at Thessalonica, on the third of the Kalends of March, during the Consulate of Gratian, Consul for the fifth time, and Theodosius.    2.  The Same Emperors to Eutropius, Praetorian Prefect.    Let no place be afforded to heretics for the conduct of their ceremonies, and let no occasion be offered for them to display the insanity of their obstinate minds. Let all persons know that if any privilege has been fraudulently obtained by means of any rescript whatsoever, by persons of this kind, it will not be valid. Let all bodies of heretics be prevented from holding unlawful assemblies, and let the name of the only and the greatest God be celebrated everywhere, and let the observance of the Nicene Creed, recently transmitted to Our ancestors, and firmly established by the testimony and practice of Divine Religion, always remain secure.    (1) Moreover, he who is an adherent of the Nicene Faith, and a true believer in the Catholic religion, should be understood to be one [pg. 10] who believes that Almighty God and Christ, the son of God, are one person, God of God, Light of Light; and let no one, by rejection, dishonor the Holy Spirit, whom we expect, and have received from the Supreme Parent of all things, in whom the sentiment of a pure and undefiled faith flourishes, as well as the belief in the undivided substance of a Holy Trinity, which true believers indicate by the Greek word  These things, indeed do not require further proof, and should be respected.   Source: Corpus Juris Civilis (The Civil Law, the Code of Justinian), by S.P. • THE HANDWRITING OF ORDINANCES/MOSAIC LAWS

Blotting out the Handwriting of Ordinances      https://www.pillarandgroundofthetruth.online/ There is much confusion and different teachings pertaining to the Laws of the Ordinances written by Moses and the Ten Commandments written and given by God. These are separate Laws. One major difference is - The Ten Commandments were spoken, written and given by God while the Laws of the Ordinances were written by Moses under the anointing of the Spirit of God. How many Laws are in the Old Testament? Since the third century after the resurrection of Christ it has been said that there is a total of 613 Laws. This cannot be truly verified because some Laws written by Moses are duplicated in the different books of the Torah, moreover our focus should not be on how many Laws there were but on the purpose of these Laws then and now. Disobedience of the Ten Commandments led to the Mosaic Laws During the Edenic time, it was customary for Jehovah to come into the Garden of Eden and speak with the couple, Adam and Eve. During such meetings God would have taught them how He wanted the couple to live. These teachings were not given in writing but were just as important as The Ten Commandments which were given in writing to remind humans of how God expected everyone to relate to Him and their neighbours. Thus, it is factual that the Ten Commandments were in effect from the beginning of life in the Garden in Eden. If they were not, then, Adam and Eve could not have been guilty of disobedience to God . When they disobeyed God, they took another god and the First Commandment says – T hou shalt have no other gods before Me.   Cain was guilty of murder because of the sixth Commandment tells us – Thou shalt not kill.  We must also remember that God instituted the Fourth Commandment as recorded in Genesis 2:2-3:    A nd on the seventh day God ended His work which He had made; and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had made. 3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it He had rested from all His work which God created and made. Israel in and out of Egypt   Joseph was the son of Jacob and his brothers sold him as a slave and he was taken to Egypt. While he was in Egypt, God honoured him and he became Pharaoh’s chief advisor.  Later, his father and siblings came to live in Egypt. After more than four hundred years the Children of Israel left Egypt. For a portion of these years, they were captives in Egypt and while in this state of oppression the Lord delivered them. He used His servants Moses, Aaron and Miriam. Micah 6:4 - For I brought thee up out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed thee out of the house of servants; and I sent before thee Moses, Aaron, and Miriam. Although they had witnessed the might and power of God the Israelites were disobedient to the leading of the Lord. Although they were usually corrected, they still continued to displease God. At this time God reminded the people of His precepts by giving them the Ten Commandments in written form. Despite being reminded, they remained in disobedience. God told Moses to meet Him at the top of Mount Sinai and he remained there for forty days and forty nights. While being there God wrote the Ten Commandments and handed the stone tablets to Moses. Exodus 31:18 -   And He gave unto Moses, when He had made an end of communing with him upon Mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God.   While Moses was returning with the first tables of stones, he was surprised to find the people engaged in idolatry. He flung away the tables of stone and they were broken. God rewrote these Commandments. Exodus 34 verse one, And the Lord said unto Moses, Hew thee two tables of stone like unto the first: and I will write upon these tables the words that were in the first tables, which thou brakest. Moses returned to God and spent another forty days and forty nights in His presence. Later the table of stone on which the Ten Commandments were written was placed inside the Ark of the Covenant. Although the Israelites had the Ten Commandments in written form they still lived in disobedience. Moses, the inspired leader, examined the situation and under the direction of the Spirit of God wrote sets of Laws to help the Israelites live in obedience to God. These Mosaic Laws were intended to point the people to Jesus the coming Messiah and the New Covenant which Jesus Christ would put in place. Galatians 3:24,25- 24  W herefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. 25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster .   When was Christ born? Jesus was born when the Laws of the Ordinances were in effect .  Galatians 4:4,   But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law. Why was He sent? Jesus came to set us free from the laws of bondage contained in the Ordinances. Galatians 4:5 tells us that Jesus came t o redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. What did Christ do to the Mosaic Laws of sacrifices, rituals, ceremonies and festivals? Ephesians 2:14-16-    For He is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; 15 Having abolished in His flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in Himself of twain one new man, so making peace; 16 And that He might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:   Should we still obey the Mosaic Laws? No , while the Mosaic Laws contain basic instructions for neighbourliness we should not be adhering to the laws of rituals, ceremonies and sacrifices. Galatians 3:24-  Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith . Why should we not obey them? The Mosaic Laws of Ordinances were intended to point us towards Christ and His sacrifice. Today they are obsolete because Christ had put an end to these rigid laws that give no inner peace. Galatians 3:10-12- For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. 11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. 12 And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.   What was said to those who still intended to adhere to the Mosaic Laws? Galatians 4:9-11 -But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage? 10 Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years. 11 I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain. What did Apostle Paul say about him continuing to live by the Laws of Ordinances? Galatians 2:18 , For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor. The Gentiles who accepted the gospel during the Apostolic era endured much reproach from the Jews but they were taught by the Apostles to adhere to the New Covenant. Despite the teachings there were some who were swayed to adopt the Mosaic Laws as their guideline to God. What is the New Covenant? Hebrews 8:6-8- But now hath He obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also He is the Mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises. 7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second. 8 For finding fault with them, He saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah: Hebrews 8:13  -   In that He saith, A new covenant, He hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.   2 Corinthians 3:6  -  Who also hath made us able ministers of the New Testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life. When Jesus rose victoriously from the grave, He put an end to the letter of the Mosaic Laws and placed the redeemed in spiritual connection with God. Let us closely examine Apostle Paul’s words in Colossians 2:14-17 Colossians 2:14 - Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to His cross;   The handwriting of ordinances are the laws written by Moses. Deuteronomy 31:9,24, 25,26- And Moses wrote this law, and delivered it unto the priests the sons of Levi, which bare the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and unto all the elders of Israel. 25 That Moses commanded the Levites, which bare the ark of the covenant of the Lord, saying, 26 Take this book of the law, and put it in the side of the Ark of the Covenant of the Lord your God, that it may be there for a witness against thee.   In the book of Hebrews we learn that the Mosaic Laws were only a shadow of things to come and they were incapable of making one perfect. These Laws could not give the repentant sinner a clear conscience.   Hebrews 10:1-3,11,12,14-   For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect. 2 For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins. 3 But in those sacrifice, there is a remembrance again made of sins every year. 11 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: 12 But this man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; 14 For by one offering He hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified. During the Old Testament era the rules and regulations were numerous yet they could not effectively lead anyone into the sweet communion that we now enjoy in Christ Jesus.   Colossians 2: 15  And having spoiled principalities and powers, He made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.   When Jesus arose victoriously from the death after spending three days and three nights (seventy-two hours) He rightfully reclaimed from Satan what man had lost when they had sinned in the Garden of Eden. 1Peter 3:19-20 -  By which also He went and preached unto the spirits in prison; 20  Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.   Every disobedient being saw that Jesus had triumphed over them. They knew that mankind now had the avenue to be truly reconnected to God. They knew that they had lost the battle and that their time was short.   Colossians 2 : 16  Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:   Apostle Paul was contending with the Gentile believers who were indecisive about obeying the Mosaic Laws. The Jews were insisting that all believers should follow these Laws but Paul was reminding the brethren that these Laws were abolished by Christ.   Meat and drink in this context are not referring to the eating of the unclean meat listed in Leviticus chapter 11 but to which of the sacrifices an offeror could eat or drink. While they could not eat of the burnt offering or the sin offering, they could eat of the peace offering. No one could partake of the drink offering because it was totally poured out to the Lord. It is called a libation.   You can read about the Sabbaths that are linked with the various Feast Days/Festival Leviticus 23. These Sabbaths are different from the weekly seventh day Sabbath. Let us use the Week of Unleavened Bread as an example. On the fourteenth of Abib is the Jewish Passover (now the Lord Supper under the New Covenant). The day following this event marks the beginning of the Week of Unleavened Bread. This is the fifteenth of Abib; it is a Holy Day/Sabbath and is called the High Day Sabbath in John 19:31. The seventh day of the Feast is also a Sabbath/Holy Day. Jesus’ resurrection put an end to these Holy Days thus Paul was advising that the believers not allow the Jews to judge their sincerity in God based on their adherence to these abolished festivals.   It was customary for the Jews to have a celebration to welcome the new moon because the first siting of the new moon is the beginning of a new month. Psalm 81:3-   Blow up the trumpet in the new moon, in the time appointed, on our solemn feast day. This practice is not detrimental to our salvation therefore Gentiles do not need to adopt this practice.   Colossians 2: 17  Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ. A shadow is something that is unreal but the body is real. The Laws of Moses which were written by Moses in a book contained the ordinances of rituals, sacrifices, ceremonies and whatever was needed to point the people to the coming Messiah. However, these things could not grant perfect connection to God. Jesus represents the body and He has abolished those shadowy laws. We are now under a New Covenant. This New Covenant is built upon the Ten Commandments. Revelation 14:12 -  Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus. Revelation 22:14-   Blessed are they that do His commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.   Writer - A. E. • WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY ABOUT YOUR SEXUAL CHOICE?

https://www.pillarandgroundofthetruth.online/     Leviticus 20:13  If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them. Romans 1:27  -  And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.   Romans 1:32   -  Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.   Jude 1:7   -  Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. What has God put in place to guide our sexual relationship?   1 Corinthians 7:2  -  Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband. Mark 10:6-9 - 6 -   But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female. 7 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife; 8 And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh. 9 What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. There has been a constant cry for the acceptance of same sex marriage unions and some world rulers have given their stamp of approval. They have given their approval to activity that God had disallowed. We must understand that since rulers had given this approval we must agree that all the components of a marital relationship were given. Bearing this in mind we must question the path we are taking and the direction in which we are heading.   Is God pleased with this decision? If not, what should be done? I am using this opportunity to remind us that man cannot purify and sanctify what God has condemned. We have our theories but we cannot override God’s decision. Let us learn how to approach this issue from a biblical perspective. Romans 1:18 , tells us- for the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who hold the truth in unrighteousness . Those of us who believe the words of God must stand on the truth of His words. We must never compromise.   Romans 1:20-24 confirm that man sin presumptuously because they have do not give God the glory and professing themselves to be wise they became fools. This evil wisdom is in unison with carnal lusts which have caused humans to engage in sexual depraved activities. This was never God’s plan for man therefore God allows all who engage in such uncleanness the opportunity to dishonour their own bodies between themselves.   Deut. 18:22 states, ‘thou shalt not lie with mankind as with womankind, it is an abomination . This is further strengthened in Lev. 20:13, ‘ if a man lie with mankind as he lieth with a woman both of them have committed abomination they shall surely be put to death; their blood be upon them . This is not advocating that you kill persons who are engaged in same sex relationships. Neither are you being asked to condone; what you are being asked to do is to examine the issue from a biblical perspective and to address it in a Christlike manner. Remember that the final judgement and penalty rest with God.   The words of God clearly state that two persons of the same sex involved in a sexual relationship are committing an abomination. Abomination means that which is detestable and extremely sinful. Persons who go against God’s will and commit such act will be punished by God. Notice that God said the individuals who are engaged in this act will be held guilty for their behaviour.   Everyone has a choice. If one is at first forced into homosexual or any other sexual deviant activities, he/she has a choice to refuse to continue. It is a matter of choice. Sexual deviant tendencies come from sinful urges which can be controlled through the power of God. Mankind is theorising excuses for this behaviour but there are no excuses. There is none of us whom God had made with sexual deviant tendencies. If He had His word would not have been so intolerant against such actions neither would such be labelled an Abomination.    Many young people are engaging in this activity because it gives easy wealth. They do not consider the negative effects on their lives. Their greed blinds them to the pitfalls such as HIV/AIDS, depression, uncontrollable anger, suicide, intense jealousy, cancer and other health issues, insecurity etc. As stated previously this is not about condemnation. It is best for us to counsel and guide so that a godly change can be effected and persons with these evil urges can be helped. Let us pray for those involved that they will adhere to God’s words and renounce evil from their lives. 1st Corinthians 6:9 tells us that no effeminate person or those who abuse themselves with mankind will inherit the Kingdom of God.  Today it is sometimes challenging to differentiate between genders based on outward appearances because many are imitating their opposite gender. Why are so many men not speaking, dressing and acting as men and likewise women as women. Presently you can hardly differentiate between some types of clothing. Both sexes are wearing the same design. Moreover, when men style their hair similar to women and put in their earring, manicure their nails etc. You must look closely to discern if you are looking at a woman or a man. God said men should never be effeminate; they should not compete with women in dressing neither should women be masculine and compete against men.   Deuteronomy 23:18 says we should not bring the price of a dog into God’s house . The word dog is translated from the Hebrew word ‘ keleb’ and is referring to a male prostitute. This statement tells us that not all offerings are acceptable in God’s house. We should examine this from different angles: not only the money gained from male prostitution but also female prostitution, drugs, war, selling of arms, gambling, money rituals and the innumerable ungodly actions through which wealth is accumulated are unacceptable to God. Deuteronomy 23:17 tells us that none of our girls should be a whore and no son a sodomite. A woman might say that she is not selling her body but whoredom as defined by the Bible includes all sexual activities outside of marriage. Leviticus 18:22-23 warns us not to have sexual relationship with an animal because by doing so one becomes defile and it brings confusion. This sexual activity is called bestiality. Although this atrocity is gaining popularity it is an abomination for humans to be sexually involved with animals. We learn from the Scriptures that these abominations were from ancient days. Romans 1:27-28 tell us that men leave the natural use of women burned in their lust towards each other doing that which is unseemly . They do not retain God in their knowledge therefore God has left them to their reprobate mind . Nothing has changed; mankind is still behaving the same. Due to technology, the world is now a global village, population has exploded and evil  activities are more pronounced. Does this make such right? No, it was wrong from the beginning and it remains wrong to the end. God told Israel in Leviticus 18:27 that their sinful activities had polluted the land . Presently this activity is polluting the world.  How can Believers remain silent and be remain spotless? How can we effect a positive change towards godliness? Research is showing that there is an increasing acceptance and tolerance for same sex unions. As we move farther and farther away from godly principles, we see nothing wrong with this abomination. There are even assumed ministers of Christianity who are welcoming the idea of same sex marriage and there are those who are refusing to speak against it because they do not want to offend those involved. I believe that these individuals should assess the solemnity of marriage based on God’s standard. Some supporters of same sex relationships are even trying to taint the pure relationships of outstanding godly people. They are stating that these outstanding men and women of God had homosexual relationships with each other. People like– Ruth and Naomi, David and Jonathan, Daniel and Ashpenaz. Can you imagine such atrocity. We must consider how we will be giving an account of our actions as we go merrily along the way each day indulging our carnal desires and leaving the pathway of holiness. There are some who are engaged in this abomination who sincerely desire to change. Our concern must be focused on them; we must reach out a helping hand.  We must also give godly guidance to those who are rebellious. Remember God sent Jesus to die for all. Here are ways in which we can teach them how to obtain wisdom and guidance from God. They should: Be honest and forthright about their sinful lusts and actions Confess and repent of their sins and ask that the transformative power of God through the Holy Spirit be active in them Ask the Lord to cleanse them of their past and make them a new creature Study God’s words and get an in-depth understanding while building a positive relationship with God Ask the Lord for His perpetual guidance and humble themselves while acknowledging their errors Receive the Lord as their personal Saviour and live in obedience to God's perfect will by the power or the Holy Ghost.   People of God should try to understand the operations of the demonic forces that drive a person to behave against God’s principles. We should be aware of the vigilance and determination of the devil and his team as they seek to destroy our eternal destiny with God. Therefore, we must ask the Lord to give us the wisdom and love to deal with those who are offended by our stance for holiness and if permitted use the Scriptures to guide them to a better life. We must refuse to be intimidated and in all things follow Christ's example.   People of God wherever you are, whatever the consequences never condone with sin in any form; make no excuse for ungodly behaviours. So many things are going wrong we have the Bible as our guideline let us adhere to God’s words. Whatever God says is wrong, it is wrong and what He deems right is right. Amen May God bless you in your corner as you consistently shine for HIM and teach others about HIM. Writer - A. E. • SOON THERE WILL BE NO MORE TEARS https://www.pillarandgroundofthetruth.online/

Tears are outlets felt inwardly. They are emotional expressions which will not be present in the Kingdom of God because there will be no situations that bring sadness. In Rev 7:13 one of the elders answered, saying unto me, " What are these which are arrayed in white robes, and whence came they ?" The response given was ‘ Sir, Thou knowest ." Then then Elder said, " These are they which came out of the great tribulation, and have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb .   According to Revelation 7:16,17  Those who will be redeemed shall neither hunger anymore nor thirst anymore; the sun shall not strike them, nor any heat; for the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to living fountains of waters. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes from their eyes." Isn’t this a wonderful picture of the fulfilment of God’s promise? I love the final statement ‘ God shall wipe away all tears from our eyes .’ This promise is made to those of us who are faithful followers of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.   Tears come through varied situations and today we will examine a few reasons for our tears.    There are tears of pity   While Jesus was on earth He openly wept in pity for the disobedient. In Luke 19 it is recorded that when He looked at Jerusalem He wept because He knew that Jerusalem would be destroyed because of the unrepentant heart of its inhabitants. Children of God presently weep because of the sinful state of this world. It is our responsibility to weep and mourn before God for those who are rejecting the plan of salvation.     There are tears of sympathy   We should sympathise with those who are experiencing sorrowful situations and sometimes our sympathy evokes tears. Lazarus was Jesus’ friend and when he died Jesus wept at his grave. We too will mourn at many graves especially when the death in our estimation was unnecessary.   There are tears of bereavement   We read in 2 Samuel 15-18 a record of a terrible disunity which occurred between David and his beloved son, Absalom. David’ authority was undermined by Absalom and this caused David great sorrow. During the turmoil between Absalom and David, Absalom lost his life. David wept bitterly for his son Absalom. He said " O my son Absalom; my son, my son Absalom; would God I had died for thee, O Absalom my son, my son!" Despite the betrayal David still loved his son and did not want him to die.   Jesus spoke Rachel weeping for her children because they were no more: Matthew 2:18 " In Rama was there a voice heard, lamentation and weeping, and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children, and would not be comforted, because they are not." When Herod the Great heard about the birth of Jesus he tried to get rid of the baby by ordering the death of all infants two years and under. When this atrocity took place there was much weeping and wailing. Today there are many parents who are weeping and who will be weeping for their children due to the challenges of life. As parents lose their children to the cold hands of death the only solace they can get is the confidence that they had trained their children well and that the children knew the Lord. I pray that every parent will teach their children the Gospel Truth so that they can obtain this comfort in the time of grief. Death is final no changes can be made.   There are the tears of the penitent   Luke 7:37 tells us about the woman who repented of her sinful habits and how she displayed her penitence by anointing Jesus with an expensive oil.   Luke 7:38 tells us how she stood at His feet behind Him weeping; and she began to wash His feet with her tears, and wiped them with the hair of her head; and she kissed His feet and anointed them with the fragrant oil. When you have met the Lord, your tears express godly sorrow for your sins. Peter wept after he denied Jesus: Luke 22:62 says, ‘ So Peter went out and wept bitterly . When we have an understanding of the gospel and walk contrarily, our conscience is pricked and we are uncomfortable.   We shed tears of anxiety   As we look around us at the moral decay of the world we pray and beseech God and shed tears of anxiety for the saving of our family, friends, and wider society. It is the believer’s responsibility to warn and beseech persons just as Noah did. However just as in the days of Noah, persons are too busy living and doing as they desire and are not interested giving their lives to God. The Apostle Paul also had moments of anxiety as he cautioned the Church in Acts 20:31  " Therefore watch, and remember that for three years I did not cease to warn everyone night and day with tears .     There are tears of sacrifice   Tears of sacrifice are shed by God’s children who suffer personal loss to the end that: the Church may go forward and the gospel may be preached in those regions where it has never been heard. Sacrifice is only acceptable when the offeror is living in obedience to the will of God. If you are willing to offer your life to the Lord as you pour out yourself to the Lord tears will flow. In this you are not alone many have had and  are having similar experiences. Jesus wept in the Garden of Gethsemane before He was betrayed by Judas and His followers also shed tears as they sacrificed their entire being to the Lord. Apostle Paul recounted his experiences as we read in Acts 20:18-19-  And when they had come to him, he said to them: "Ye know, from the first day that I came to Asia, after what manner I have been with you at all seasons, serving the Lord with all humility of mind and with many tears and temptations which befell me by the lying in wait of the Jews.   If you are going through trying times hold on to Christ seek comfort from the Scriptures Psalm 126:5 reminds us that those who sow in tears shall reap in joy. God knows and cares when we shed a tear. Do not despair, always remember that sorrow is temporary: Psalm 30:5 reminds us  weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.    Finally, the best of all -if we are true to God, our Heavenly Father, with a tender hand, “ shall wipe away every tear from our eyes.”   Yes, there are many kinds of tears but if we accept salvation through Jesus Christ and live in obedience to the will of God when Jesus shall put an end to sin and death and hand over to His Father there shall be no shedding of tears in that Eternal City. • SPEAKING IN TONGUES

Speaking in tongues - Speaking in languages.   It is only one of several gifts of the Holy Spirit. It is God who decides which gift one will receive; not everyone will receive the gift of speaking in tongues. 1 Corinthians 12 verses 4-6: Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. There is much concern about the practise of tongues speaking and the teachings on this topic are diverse. Here are a few teachings on the topic: (1) Some Christians who speak in tongues believe they are speaking in an existing language. (2) Some believe they are uttering a heavenly tongue. (3) Some denominations, teach that speaking in tongues is the initial evidence of the baptism in the Holy Spirit. (4) Some believe that speaking in tongues is a gift of the Holy Spirit and must be interpreted by an interpreter. (5) Some believe that speaking in tongues is a sign that you are saved . What is the truth?   2nd Timothy 3:16 tells us that all Scripture is given by inspiration of God . This means that the Bible is the inspired word of God. We need to tap into the wisdom recorded in the Scriptures and know what the Bible says about any topic. 2nd Timothy 2:15 encourages us to, “ Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth . ” Psalm 119:105 reminds us that the word of God is a light. It reads, “ Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. It is important that everyone has a good understanding of the word of God because it is what guides us in doing the right. John 8:32 says, “And you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.”     What is the definition of tongues?  Scripturally tongues mean languages. According to the Strong Concordance the Greek translation for tongue is glōssa. The word glossolalia" is the most commonly accepted term for speaking in tongues. It comes from the Greek words meaning "tongues" or "languages," and "to speak."   Are there different types of tongues? The Scriptures tell us about two types of tongues - known and unknown tongues. On the Day of Pentecost when the Holy Ghost anointed the followers of Christ they spoke in known languages. Acts 2:1̵4,7,8,11,12 tell us what happened at the first outpouring of the Holy Ghost.   And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.   And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans? And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born? Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God. And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this?   There are three records of speaking in tongues in the Scriptures and each served a purpose. The occurrence of Acts chapter 2 was for the spreading of the Gospel of Salvation, Acts chapter 10 teaches that the Gentiles were included in God's plan of salvation and Acts chapter 19 teaches us that correct baptism is linked to the reception of the Holy Spirit. On the day of Pentecost the setting was public teaching but the two other instances were among brethren.   In the Book of First Corinthians, we learn about an unknown language. 1st Corinthians 14:2 –6, 13,14, 27,28 For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries. He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the Church.  I would that ye all spake with tongues but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the Church may receive edifying. Now, brethren, if I come unto you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you, except I shall speak to you either by revelation, or by knowledge, or by prophesying, or by doctrine? Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret. For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.  If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret. But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.   It is good manners not to speak when others are speaking and when in the company of others not to speak what they cannot understand. Therefore, in places of worship it’s bad manners when there is confusion because many persons are speaking at the same time and are also speaking what others cannot understand. This is not godliness. Let us follow the biblical guidelines. There ought to be one who possesses the gift of interpretation who will give the required interpretation.   How do you get the Gift of Tongues? At the end of Christ’s Ministry on earth He promised to send His followers His power. He said, But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.  In Acts chapter 19 we read about brethren who had not receive the Holy Spirit.  And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples, 2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. 3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism. 4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after Him, that is, on Christ Jesus. 5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied. 7 And all the men were about twelve. Based on the preceding Scripture we understand the importance of being properly baptised. After their proper baptism they received the Holy Spirit and as a sign that they were now on the right path they received the outward sign of speaking in languages just as on the day of Pentecost.   Paul told the Corinthians in 1st Corinthians 12: 4 -11 , Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.  And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.  But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.   1st Corinthians 12:28-30 tell us , God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues. Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all workers of miracles? Do all have gifts of healings? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret?”    From this we can understand that only some will receive the gift to speak in tongues, just as only some are called to be teachers, or any other such office.   Tongues are for Sign Mark 16:15 - 18, And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In My name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.   If speaking in tongues is a constant sign that one has received the Holy Spirit then one can always toy with venomous snakes or drink poison as water and nothing will happen to them. It will also be that those for whom prayer is offered will be healed, therefore there should be no more sickness or death. On this basis speaking in tongues is not the only sign of an infilling of the Holy Spirit.   Speaking in tongues is not the constant sign of baptism of the Holy Spirit because there are numerous records in Acts of true conversion and Spirit-baptism where no tongues are mentioned namely Acts 2:37-42; 8:26-40; 9:1-19; 13:44-52; 16:11-15; 16:25-34; 17:1-10a; 17:10b-15; 17:16-33; 18:1-11; 18:24-28.   1st Corinthians 14: 22,  “Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.”   What is said about the manifestation of tongues? We are advised from 1st Corinthians 14:40 to   let all things be done decently and in order.      Writer - A. E. • FAMILY LIFE Marriage is a Spiritual and a Civil Contract

Most persons demonstrate a very strong desire to be married and each person desiring marriage may express a different idea of the meaning of marriage. It is very important for everyone to have a good understanding of marriage and what is expected from us in a marriage before we enter into a marriage.   What is marriage? Marriage in its true essence is a God directed covenant between a biologically born woman and a biologically born man. It is a covenant which is both civil and spiritual. The civil covenant is based on the laws of the location in which the marriage is taking place. The spirituality is based on God’s precepts because it was, He who first instituted marriage. Thus, the spiritual covenant remains the same regardless of locality. What are the purposes of marriage? God designed the friendship bond called marriage to fulfil several purposes. The purposes which are essential in marriage are inclusive of companionship, procreation and relationship. genesis 1 verse 27 - So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them. Genesis 2 verse 24 - Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. Genesis 1 verse 28 - And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: What is companionship ? Although marriage is a sexual union, companionship is the friendship aspect of the marriage. It is a relationship in which both parties support each other emotionally; marriage is not centred on fulfilling sexual interest. It allows both partners to rely on each other for comfort and support. It is very depressing when one has to share his/her life with someone who is not a friend or offers mutual companionship. What is procreation? The first task God gave humans in marriage was that of producing offspring through sexual intercourse. Without procreation the human species would not exist. Procreation should be done with great responsibility because spouses must be mindful of how they will satisfy the normal needs of the children. This does not give us the licence to terminate the life of an unborn child, what it teaches us is responsibility. Sexual intercourse is not a casual fling it is one of the most important action that one can engage in. Thus, one must place a high value on his/her body and not give it just to satisfy carnal whims and fancies. What is relationship in mar riage?   What are you actually seeking in a marriage? Why do you want to get married? Are you prepared to give and receive? Are you getting entangled with someone for a lifetime or just for as long as the pleasure lasts?  A marriage is not a smooth road without pitfalls and edges; it has no place for bitterness and grudges. A marriage gives partners the opportunity to have a beautiful bond with God at the centre. The Scriptures are their guide and the Holy Spirit supplies the inspiration for continuation in righteousness. The family is built on the principles as set by our Creator and the members model the love of God. Great marital relationship is rooted in obedience to God, love, forgiveness, care, compassion and healing. What is marriage according to society?  In the past society’s concept of marriage was a union between a male and a female, today’s marriage practices have taken a down turn; moving from godly tenets to human atrocities. A society’s concept of marriage differs according to culture or location and sometimes the basic concept is a union between two or more persons. It is to be regretted that on a whole society’s concept of marriage is often opposite to the Lord’s. Types of marriage – Based on society’s concept of marriage there have been many changes to married life. Some types of marriage are: Polygamy – we focus on two types of polygamy, polygyny – married more than one wife, polyandry- women married to more than one man and group marriage – which is a group of women marries a group of men. All of them have common wives and husbands. Monogamy- is a marriage with only two individuals. God’s standard is one biologically born woman and a biologically born man. What is marriage according to the word of God? According to the word of God, marriage is a relationship which is synonymous to the relationship between Christ and the Church. Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the Church: and He is the saviour of the body. 24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing. 25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the Church, and gave Himself for it; 26 That He might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, 27 That He might present it to Himself a glorious Church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. 28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. 29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the Church: 30 For we are members of His body, of His flesh, and of His bones. 31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. 32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the Church. 33 Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.   Pillars of marriage   Marriage is a structure which must be properly built on the Sure Foundation and possess pillars to ensure strength and stability. The pillars are principles of godliness as outlined in the Scriptures. The permanency of the marriage union is dependent on the type of material used in its foundation and construction. These are a few pillars on which a properly structured marriage must be built: love, understanding , r espect, compassion, forgiveness, endorsement and acceptance. There are different types of love and many will marry because of love, infatuation or convenience but their expressed emotion lacks the essential pillars. Such union will be temporary because it cannot stand without the pillars. Yes, it is important that each partner love the other but it is most important that each partner respect the other. Respect will not allow abuse or misuse. When partners endorse each other, it means that they are faithful and confident in the relationship. They fully support each other positively and easily complement and care for each other. None is afraid of the storms which may blow because each is not only assured of human support but is assured that God is the Anchor. Some spouses keep looking over the fence trying to find greener pastures. Some spouses are focusing on outer beauty and as the years pass become unwilling to accept the spouse who in the eyes of the other has lost his or her attractiveness. When entering marriage, you are entering a lifetime commitment and many changes including physical changes will occur during this time. You must be willing to adjust to support your spouse. None is perfect therefore when challenges arise each should assist the other over the hurdles and the affected party should be willing to do everything godly that will help in solving the challenges or to make living more comfortable. This is not telling anyone to remain in a situation where your life is at risk. In such situation you can assist from a distance. Spouses should work with each other to get the best out of the other. Do not want the other to make sacrifices which you would not make; fairness is paramount. Marriage is for better or worse therefore, before entering marriage one must understand the implications of the profound statements: for better or for worse and until death do us part.  Functions of marriage The functions of marriage may differ based on ones’ perspective. However, we could summarise the varied functions. Marriage satisfies many human needs that is why despite its sharp edges, persons are willing to be bonded in marriage. Marriage gives room for sexual satisfaction and offers the opportunity for exploration and experiment within the bounds of righteousness. Seeking for pleasure should not lead one into uncleanness because unrighteous sexual practises but the fulfilment of sexual needs must be done according to guidelines offered in the Scriptures. Every human is a sexual being and there are different ways in which one may find pleasure. Marriage gives the scope for one to obtain a better understanding of human physiology and psychology. Marriage should also answer to the spouse’s financial, emotional, social and religious. That is why before agreeing to a marriage proposal one should consider his or her reasonable needs and also consider if these needs will be met and if not how will you cope with the unfulfilled needs. It is impossible for any human to satisfy all the desires of another so no one should be pressured to always satisfy the whims and fantasies of another. Be understanding and act wisely. Marriage requires contentment and understanding. Selfishness can never be housed in a marriage. Remember that what is good for the goose is good for the gander. What if the one making the unreasonable demand is the one facing the demand? The word of God tells us the following in 2nd Corinthians 6:14-18, Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? 15  And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? 16  And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. 17  Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you. 18  And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be My sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty. Marriage satisfies spiritual or religious functions therefore the partners should hold the same religious beliefs. What is to be expected from each partner according to society? Societal expectations will differ based on culture. In this present world where depravity is getting excessive, societal morals and values are being eroded. What was a terrible act yesterday is deemed good today. Therefore, moral values are compromised and this is often accepted. What is to be expected from each partner according to the Bible ? The Bible clearly outlines what is expected from the social and religious institution of marriage. Partners must work to support and continually repair the breaches which may occur from time to time. They must be committed to God and to the union, respectful, faithfulness, loving and compassionate. Partners should support each other in prayer. Their home should be a place that houses the presence of God. What are the consequences for those who do not follow biblical guidelines? Even if the marriage seems to be stable if Christ is not at the centre, it is not truly stable and prosperous. Without Him there are varied destructive storms which will affect the union. This union without a Sure Foundation is liable to collapse at any time. Our human effort is incapable of holding or building a marital union such as God desires that is why so many marriages are crumbling and homes and hearts destroyed. How can you repair a sick marriage? We thank God that He is a Life Saver and a Rescuer. Partners should confess their faults to each other and ask for forgiveness then they go to the Lord in prayer and supplication. He can repair the breach. Do not put your confidence in human’s ideologies and spend much money seeking a solution. Go to God together in penitence and He will do whatever is necessary to make the union what He knows it ought to be. do not allow pride or ego to sabotage your marriage neither let your selfish desires do so. stand united against the dark clouds and you will be rewarded by the inflowing light from Christ. I pray that everyone will seek guidance from God before and after engaging in this sacred institution. A Christ approved marriage will produce a family set on godly principles thus creating a better society.      Writer - A. E. • WHO ARE YOU IN CHRIST?

Are you a Spiritual Jew or a Redeemed Gentile? Who are Jews? According to the https://www.ajc.org/news/who-are-the-jews The Jewish People are an ethno-religious group and nation originating in the Land of Israel, which is the current location of the State of Israel. In a document posted on https://www.jewfaq.org/who_is_a_jew we learn the following: The word "Jew" (in Hebrew, "Yehudi") is derived from the name Judah, which was the name of one of Jacob's twelve sons. Judah was the ancestor of one of the tribes of Israel, which was named after him. Likewise, the word Judaism literally means "Judah-ism," that is, the religion of the Yehudim. Other sources, however, say that the word "Yehudim" means "People of  G-d ," because the first three Hebrew letters of "Yehudah" are the same as the first three letters of G-d's four-letter  name . One fact that stands out in both statements is that the people who are called Jews are a group of people who are specially connected to Almighty God. SPIRITUAL JEWS A spiritual Jew is an individual from the lineage of Abraham who believes and accepts that Jesus is the Messiah. PHYSICAL JEW Being a physical Jew speaks to ethnicity. This is a person who is a direct descendant of Abraham. It is possible to be a physical Jew but not a spiritual one. Can you be a spiritual Jew while being a non-Jew? Let us examine a few verses from Romans chapter 2 Romans 2:24   For the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles through you, as it is written. Apostle Paul was making a direct distinction between two groups of people by telling the Jews that due to their emphasis on fulfilling the Mosaic ordinances which Jesus had blotted out they were causing the non-Jews to stumble. The non-Jews (Gentiles) were being forced to adhere to the Jewish Old Testament ordinances which were fulfilled in Christ. Such rejection by those who would have known better is termed blasphemy by Apostle Paul. The Mosaic Laws are different from the Ten Commandments. The Mosaic Laws are likened to a schoolmaster. Galatians 3:24-25 - Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith . But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster. Galatians 3:19 explains the purpose of the Mosaic Laws. It reads, W herefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the Seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator . The Ten Commandments are now written on the fleshy tables of our heart. They are the guideposts that points us to righteousness. They abide forever and we are judged by them. Romans 2:25-29 -  For circumcision verily profiteth, if thou keep the law: but if thou be a breaker of the law, thy circumcision is made uncircumcision. 26 Therefore if the uncircumcision keep the righteousness of the law, shall not his uncircumcision be counted for circumcision? 27 And shall not uncircumcision which is by nature, if it fulfil the law, judge thee, who by the letter and circumcision dost transgress the law? Apostle Paul was pointing out that it was not the act of physical circumcision that makes one righteous but the relationship with God. Therefore, if the physically uncircumcised is obedient to God then that individual is more righteous that the physically circumcised who is living in disobedience to God. 28 For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: 29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God. In these verses Paul was telling the Jews who claimed an exalted position through their ethnicity that they were now in a new era and being of Abraham’s lineage and being only circumcised in the flesh is not the true definition of a Jew. A Jew is one who is a descendant of Abraham and possesses a circumcised heart. The ordinance of circumcision was first given to Abraham. It was a sign to differentiate between the physical descendants of Abraham and others. Although others who were not direct descendants of Abraham adjoined themselves to the Abrahamic group. These people were enjoined to enjoy the blessings of those who were faithful to God. They never took unto themselves the title of - spiritual Jew. We ought to be very clear as to who we are. Revelation 2:9 tells us, I know thy works and tribulation and poverty but thou art rich and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews and are not but are of the synagogue of Satan.  This is a statement that should cause us to tread carefully when claiming identity. Since there is so much controversy  about whether one is a spiritual Jew or a Gentile. Let us closely examine the Scriptures to learn the truth bearing in mind that Christ said there are those who say that they are Jews but instead they are of the synagogue of Satan.   When was the name Israel first used in the Scriptures?       Genesis 32:27-28 - And He said unto him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob. And He said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed . At this initial meeting the name Israel was given to a man named Jacob  When Moses was sent by God to Pharaoh what was he instructed to say to Pharaoh?  Exodus 4:22 -  And thou shalt say unto Pharaoh, Thus saith the Lord, Israel is my son, even my firstborn:  At this time God was not referring to Jacob but to his descendants who had then become the nation of Israel.  To what was Israel likened in Isaiah 41:8? But thou, Israel, art my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my friend. The relationship between God and Israel was that of a Master and a chosen servant bound together by a bond of friendship. Genesis 45:5 tells us about a  young man named Joseph, the beloved son of Jacob. He got dreams about him and his family which indicated that he was especially blessed. This was a factor which fueled jealousy in his siblings. They sold him as a slave and he was taken to Egypt. The siblings thought that they were doing him harm but instead God used his presence in Egypt to preserve his family lives. This can be linked to the New Testament account of another Joseph, who also had dreams before going into Egypt to preserve his family’s lives. Matthew 2:13-14 - And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him.  When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt: God preserved the nation of Israel while they were in bondage in Egypt and He preserved Jesus, His Only Begotten Son and our Redeemer by sending the family into Egypt. Jesus came to bring a common salvation to everyone. He came to break down the middle wall of partition. Ephesians 2:13-16 – But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. 14 For He is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; 15 Having abolished in His flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in Himself of twain one new man, so making peace; 16 And that He might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby. When Jesus died the curtain in the Temple was torn from top to bottom and for the first time everyone could see into the Holy of the Holiest. This was symbolic of the unification which was made available through Jesus' sacrifice. No longer would we be bounded by the laws of rituals, ceremonies and sacrifices but we were presented with the chance to be saved through grace and obedience to the perfect will of God. To what was Jesus likened in Galatians 3:16? Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ. This was an explanation to the prophecy about Jesus in Genesis 12:3.   And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. While nations are blessed because of Abraham’s faithfulness to God it is Christ alone who is our Saviour and has the ultimate power to bless the families of the whole earth.  What did God call Israel? Psalm 80:8 T hou hast brought a vine out of Egypt: thou hast cast out the heathen, and planted it. A vine is expected to bear fruit good for food. Jesus likened Himself to a vine but He stated that He was the True Vine. John 15 verse one-  I am The True Vine, and my Father is the Husbandman . This statement tells us that there are other kinds of vines.   How did Jesus refer to non-Israelites and what opportunities are offered to them? John 10:16 -   And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear My voice; and there shall be one-fold, and one shepherd. Who is justified through faith? Romans 3:29-30 -   Is He the God of the Jews only? is He not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also: 30 Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith. Jesus told the woman at the well in Samaria that salvation is of the Jews. He was pointing out that Abraham was instrumental in the plan for a common salvation. A common salvation points to God’s lack of partiality and the offering of salvation to all nations regardless of their spiritual state. Romans 4:2-4- For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God. 3 For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. 4 Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt . It was not works that propelled Abraham into the position of being a friend of God it was his faith in God. He believed God always. We cannot work to appease God and to gain entry into His Kingdom. We must exercise faith knowing that God never fails or disappoints.  What else did Apostle Paul say about Israel and the Gentiles?  Romans 9:30-33-   30   What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith. 31 But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness. 32 Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone; 33 As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on Him shall not be ashamed. Israel stumbled when they rejected Jesus as their Messiah. In their blindness they continue to believe that they can be saved by their works according to the Laws of Ordinances. The same laws that Jesus had blotted out. While they are stumbling the Gentiles are pushing on by faith. This is not an opportunity for the Gentiles to boast against the Jews because non-Jews as a wild olive plant are engrafted into the true olive plant. Thus, again there is a clear distinction between the behaviour and position of Jews and Gentiles.  Romans 10:1, 12-13,21-   Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.  For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon Him. 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. 14 But to Israel He saith, all day long I have stretched forth My hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people. Paul desire was the salvation of Israel. He desired that the people who were called to lead the world to God would arise from their slumber and by faith do the will of God. This is also God's desire. As stated, God has not put any differences between Jews and non-Jews it is the people who have caused a barrier to be in place. That barrier is sin . Today and always, we ought to pray that everyone will accept salvation. Romans 11:18-25 - 18 -   Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee. 19 Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be grafted in. 20 Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear: 21 For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest He also spare not thee. 22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in His goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off. 23 And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be grafted in: for God is able to graft them in again. 24 For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert grafted contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree? 25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. The branches refer to Israel. There are many who speak ill of that nation. This ought not to be done. Salvation came to us through them. Abraham's faith caused a great spiritual transformation on this earth. We are grateful that he withstood amidst the challenges. However, just being  physical descendants of Abraham does not guarantee eternal life. In order for one to inherit everlasting life the individual must be justified in Christ. Is Israel condemned, NO. There is hope for Israel and in the 1000 years reign of Christ, the partial blindness of Israel shall be removed. The 1000 years period is a teaching period and all who had no knowledge of God's truth and those who were partially blinded shall be taught. It will be a glorious time for the nation of Israel. There will be the opportunity to reinstate their friendship with God and their final reward will be according to their choice during this period. We are now in the era for salvation to non-Jews. Non-Jews are not partially blinded and the Holy Spirit is present to guide all those who seek the undiluted truth which is contained within the Scriptures. it is important that non-Jews take heed because if Israel the nation specially chosen by God for His divine purpose was put aside because of their disobedience shall we not be rewarded similarly.   Why did Paul reprove Peter? Galatians 2:11-14 -     But when Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed. 12 For before that certain came from James, he did eat with the Gentiles: but when they were come, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing them which were of the circumcision. 13 And the other Jews dissembled likewise with him; insomuch that Barnabas also was carried away with their dissimulation. 14 But when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said unto Peter before them all, If thou, being a Jew, livest after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why compellest thou the Gentiles to live as do the Jews?  Peter got carried away with the Jewish laws and lost sight of the acts of justification which was revealed in Cornelius’ house. At Cornelius’ residence God demonstrated to all that His salvation is inclusive; the only barrier to being a recipient is – SIN.   What is the new covenant? Galatians 3:26-29 -   For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. Alleluia!!! praise the Lord!!! There is freedom in Christ. Jesus is our Emancipator!!! Why are we forcing ourselves into the yoke which He has cast away from us? Let us bask into the richness of His salvation. We are not yoked to man's philosophies and ideologies but we are yoked in freedom to Christ.   Ephesians 2:18-22 -  For through Him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. 19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; 20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief corner stone; 21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: 22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.    Abraham’s seed as used in Galatians 3:29 is not telling us that Abraham is our spiritual father. This would be a contradiction to Jesus' command in Matthew 23:9 - And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven. It is referring to the fruit of Abraham's faith in God. Abraham believed God and anticipated a Holy City. Due to his confidence in God, Jesus came through his lineage. Thus, Jesus said salvation is of the Jews. We also believe God through Jesus and are looking forward to that City. However, we will only enter that City through the grace of our Lord and Saviour  and not through the patriarch Abraham. Both Jews and Gentiles must exercise the same faith in God. We, the Gentiles, are engrafted into the True Vine which is Christ our Redeemer and have the opportunity to become heirs of Christ. We are not spiritual Jews neither are we Hebrew. The JEWS/HEBREWS are still partially blinded but non-Jews spiritual eyes are open.      Writer: A. E. • PARENTING IN A CHANGING WORLD

PARENTS - CHILDREN FIRST EXAMPLE   I am aware that there are numerous forms of religion but when I am speaking about family life matters, I am focusing on Christianity. Because first and foremost it is my spiritual foundation. I believe in Almighty God the One Supreme God and in Jesus Christ His Beloved Begotten Son and the Saviour of the world. I believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God regardless of the challenges it has passed through. I believe that humans ought to worship God and also to assemble for worship as outlined in Hebrews 10 and verse 25, Not forsakin g the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.   I believe that children are from God as said in Psalm 127 verses 3-5 , Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate. I believe that each man’s quiver is made to securely keep a specific amount, of arrows so it is that each man should not have excess arrows in his quiver because they will not be properly cared for. They will become damaged goods because they are not securely packaged.   Would you agree that parents are primary examples for their children? Children learn much more by observing their parents than by listening to their lectures, especially if what the parents speak is not what they do.   Parents should know that children are not showpieces instead they are God’s gift and He expects us to treat them as He treats us. Parents are to: Ø Build a stable home for their children whether it be a tent or a palace is not important Ø Love and correct their children without fear or favour Ø Be a friend, mentor, counsellor, advisor and when necessary, a judge Ø Provide for children materially, physically, psychologically and spiritually Ø Fathers should play the role of a father 1st Timothy 5verse 8 But if any provide not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.   Ø Mothers are gatekeepers; they should assist the fathers in preparing the children to become outstanding men and women, thus fulfilling God's plan for their lives. Ø  Proverbs 13:22 reminds us that a good man leaveth an inheritance to his children’s children.   A child goes through several stages: first a babe, then a toddler afterward an infant, then comes the puberty stage and being an adolescent, moving on to being a teen and escalating into adulthood. It is terrifying that many children do not get the opportunity to enjoy these stages of development because they are forced into adulthood through their behaviour or that of others. This is abuse. There are different types forms of abuse inclusive of: mental, physical, psychological, sexual, carnal and psychosocial and every type carries damaging effects. Some children are not allowed to get a good education, some are forced to fend for themselves and their siblings, some suffer immense physical and psychological abuse, thus taking on great financial responsibilities, some become early entrepreneurs, some are living with partners much older than themselves, some are employed are not paid the correct wages. Some are sold into all types of bondage. Some are prostitutes or used as sex slaves. These are only a few of the many snares into which our children have fallen. All these things happen to our children because homes are shattered. There is no spiritual foundation. We are reminded in Psalm 127 verse1- E xcept the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.   Children are often left unguided; they make decisions for themselves. Many of us place our focus on material things and we transmit these same values to our children. Some parents have minimal time for their children therefore the children are reared on the street or by peers, yet these parents are surprised and defensive when their children get in to deep trouble. The world is in trouble because most parents are not effective parents. Many children are not taught common courtesies yet they are expected to be courteous. They are reared in strife and conflict and suffer brutality and hunger yet we expect them to be gentle.   Children are often attired immodestly, go where only adults should go, not taught biblical principles, left unsupervised, yet we cannot understand why teen pregnancy, abortions, drug addiction, crime, school dropouts and such are on a rapid increase. Proverbs 22:6 says, train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it.   Tolerance is the buzz word today. We tolerate everything that is wrong and we use feeble theories as the foundation source for our tolerance. We reject the Bible, which is the word of God but we cling for dear life to the words and teachings of ungodly people.    Proverbs 13:24 tells us that he that spareth his rod hateth his own son but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes . Today we do rarely use effective punishment instead we find reasons to justify our children misbehaviours. The rejected word of God does not sanction abuse but man’s theories have caused a multiplication of abuse against children and others.   Many children are disrespectful yet expects to be respected. Proverbs 29:15 tells us that a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame .  The exercise of moral values are on the decrease. We need to teach our children the magic words: please, thank you, excuse me, I’m sorry. They need to seek permission and guidance from the caregiver before doing something and care givers need to give good guidance.   Decrease in sincere worship leads to an increase in ungodliness in every form. Families need to return to God. Many dispute the Bible or believe that the Church is for the old people. Many children do not have a Bible or any knowledge of God and Jesus but they are given all types of expensive devices for entertainment. God’s words are often not taught in the home and it is absent in the community and it is taken out of the school curriculum. The homes and communities are suffering from spiritual drought. Proverbs 29 verse 18 says, Where, there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.  Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he . Bearing this in mind ask yourselves what kind of children are we rearing to rule us in the future.   Deuteronomy 6:7 reminds us how God instructed Israel to teach their children His words continually. He said, and thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house and when thou walkest by the way and when thou liest down and when thou riseth up.   Apostle Paul commented on Eunice and Lois for teaching Timothy the words of God. Timothy absorbed these teachings and became one of the greatest evangelists. Children who are exposed to God’s word are better able to make the right choices and are less open to abuse.   Parenting is a mammoth task but the Bible is replete with information which will help parents to be as God desires. When we turn to these biblical principles our children will be safer.   In this economic crisis many parents leave their children and go to foreign lands in search of a better life. Sadly, oftentimes the children are lost while their parents are busy hunting wealth. Can barrels or money transfers rear children? Let us offer the love, protection and guidance needed by our children. Let us pray with them and for them. Let us remember that if we abuse our children, it is a terrible sin. Do not break bones nor hearts, do not sell them or pawn them out. They are God’s jewels; that is why Jesus said, except you repent and become like little children you cannot enter the Kingdom of God.     In summary what are parents to do: Ønot only speak about love and moral values but also model such in your daily life Ø  Model your Christian beliefs. No sexual abuse, no verbal abuse, no physical abuse i.e. hitting or inflicting pain on your children just to vent your anger) Ø From their earliest years teach your children to respect you, themselves and others Ø Diligently administer discipline and be able to identify the differences between defiance and immaturity Ø Focus on what will help your children to become godly persons Ø Know that each child is unique so never compare or degrade any Ø Respect each child as a unique person   No parent is perfect but with God you can do an excellent job. The Bible is replete with instructions. You can be the parent God wants you to be; just use the tools He has given. Writer- A. E. • For I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. Philippians 4:11

Don't Envy the World   http://www.pillarandgroundofthetruth.online/ 3rd John 3-5, Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. This is one of the most misinterpreted texts, today. This Scripture is telling us that John’s desire is that all believers prosper  spiritually and be in good health spiritually and physically.     Presently most preachers are focusing on the teaching of worldly prosperity, which can be termed one of the doctrines of the devil according to 1st Timothy 4:1, Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils.   It is common taught that if you are serving God you should not be poor. However this is not true. Jesus, Himself said in Matthew 26:11 that the poor will always be with us. He said this although He knew that His Father has promised to bless all who serve Him faithfully and adhere to His Commandments. He knew of the blessings promised to those who are obedient to Him, help others, give one tenth of their earnings and also free will offerings to His Ministry.   Money gathered in the Ministry is not for someone’s selfish personal use but for the satisfying of the different needs of the Ministry.    The prosperity doctrine is steadily taking away the craving which persons should have for salvation. Many preachers and teachers are avoiding the teaching of the effects of sin, the need for repentance and conversion and the necessity of restitution. Their main focus is on world prosperity and this has sidetracked persons from seeking salvation through Jesus Christ, instead persons are fervently seeking wealth and other temporary things which will burn with fire and brimstone. This doctrine of prosperity breeds covetousness and greed.   Accumulating wealth in itself is not evil but it becomes evil when we twist the Scriptures to influence persons to deviate from the plain path and begin worshipping the god of materialism. Wealth and riches also become sin when it is obtained unfairly. Many persons who desire to walk with Christ think that they are missing out on earthly goodies. Their itching ears and palms push them into the den of iniquity. They may achieve their heart’s desire yet have no peace. Their disobedience has created a spiritual void which can only be filled when the focus is turned to Almighty God.   Have you ever thought that being a disciple of Christ means you are missing out on the things of the world? Have you ever thought about what life would be like if you had never had knowledge of Jesus? Do you waste precious minutes imagining what it would be like to live your lives in pursuit of happiness through money, possessions, social status and to not have the moral constraints place upon you as is done since you have accepted Christ as your Saviour.   Are you envious of those who live in the world? Does it seem like they get all the freedom and fun in life? I’m sure you can all think of examples in your own lives where your religious beliefs have prevented you from doing something that you would have liked to do.   Psalm 73 addresses this very issue of coveting the things that are of the world. Psalm 73:1 says, Truly God is good to Israel, to those who are pure in heart . Why did the psalmist believe that God was good to Him? In Psalm 73:3 he tells us, for I was envious of the foolish when I saw the prosperity of the wicked . It is this prosperity of the wicked that is the temptation to us, for the flesh seeks pleasure and sometimes what is out there in the world seems so much more pleasurable. It is easy to look at the proud or wicked person and only see their loose way of life and the ease with which they seem to pass through this world. This is deception; the one who serves God faithfully without wealth is better than those who seem to possess much of earth’s goods and are without Christ. Proverbs 17:1 reminds us, Better is a dry morsel, and quietness therewith, than an house full of sacrifices with strife.   Believers must know that the flesh has the basic characteristic of envy and it’s something that our spiritual mind has to keep under control. It is something that the Psalmist says almost got the better of him. David realized the necessity of keeping focused in Psa. 73:2, he stated but as for me, my feet had almost stumbled, my steps had nearly slipped . H is feet had almost stumbled; he had almost slipped up because of his envy. Do you remember what happened to him when he was lured by his desire for Bathsheba? This was more than a casual look he had almost lost his spiritual relationship with God. Let us look at some of the snares we may encounter when we seek or obtain prosperity which is not of God.   Having obtained the goodies, it seems as if they are not under any constraints. They appear happy while others are afflicted with the burdens of life. Psa. 73:5 states, for they are not in trouble as others; neither are they plagued like other men .  They have nothing to worry about until death takes them.     They are proud of their accomplishments, their possessions, their power, their status and they wear it with pride like a beautiful necklace that they show off to everyone and they don’t have any reservations about being unjust or cruel to others. Their sole intention is to achieve and gain mobility in society. They desire to inflate their pride. Therefore, pride compasseth them about as a chain; violence covereth them as a garment. Their eyes stand out with fatness: they have more than heart could wish. They are corrupt, and speak wickedly concerning oppression: they speak loftily. They set their mouth against the heavens, and their tongue walketh through the earth .  (Psa. 73:6-9) They have more than they could reasonably expect, they have power, money, possessions yet they are always seeking to gain more. Psa. 73:12 tells us Behold, these are the ungodly who prosper in the world, and they increase in riches . How often do we feel like that, when we see wicked people enjoying a life of ease, having much but labouring little? How sad do you feel because of their self-centredness? How does it impact you when they lack care for others, only considering themselves.   This is the problem that the Psalmist faces, he is struggling to understand the affluence of the world, but he knew that the world was not a greater attraction than the attraction of everlasting life. He is peering over that wall and contemplating all the things that he sees and I’m sure we do the very same thing. Do we struggle with the same thoughts; do we wish we were on the other side of the wall?   The human mind could not understand how God allowed persons to gain prosperity although they refused to accept Him in truth. David also struggled with this though, he said, in Psalm 73:16-17 When I thought to know this, it was too painful for me; Until I went into the sanctuary of God; then understood I their end . Yes, it was in the place of truth that David got a full understanding of the end of all those who crave after and obtain ungodly prosperity. Therefore, I encourage those of you who desire to serve God faithfully to wait patiently on the Lord. He will bless you as He desires. Do not become envious of the goodies around you. God will give you as He desires. Be careful of the gifts which the Devil brings. I would like you to know that unlike God he gives nothing free. Therefore, seek and ask for the right path and walk in it.    Let us pray Almighty God my loving and kind Father, I thank You for providing my daily needs. Please help me to understand the importance of being contented with Your provision. I pray that the Holy Spirit teach me how to be thankful and to always praise You for Your goodness towards me even when I am discontented and show signs of envy. Please help me to recognise those who You have sent to help me and to express my gratitude to them. Help me to care for others as I desire to me cared for. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.   Vanity of vanities saith the Preacher; vanity of vanities; all is vanity. What profit hath a man of all his labours which he taketh under the sun? One generation passeth away and another generation cometh but the earth abideth forever. The sun also ariseth and the sun goeth down and hasteth to its place where it arose The wind goeth toward the south and turneth about unto the north; it whirleth about continually and the wind returneth again according to its circuits. All the rivers run into the sea; yet the sea is not full; unto the place from whence the rivers come thither they return again All things are full of labour; man cannot utter it. The eye is not satisfied with seeing nor the ear filled with hearing. Ecclestiastes 1:2-8       Writer - A. E. • WHY BE BAPTISED?

THY VOWS O LORD ARE UPON ME   http://www. pillarandgroundofthetruth.online/  ‘ Marvel not that I said unto thee, ye must be born again.’      John 3:7   What does it mean to be born again? Being born again is a change similar to the caterpillar changing into a beautiful butterfly. When you are born again, you are a new person, your lifestyle is changed, your heart is inclined to righteousness and by the power of God, you subdue your carnal desires.   For God so loved the world, that He sent His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16   This is a very popular Scripture and one that is favourable to us because we all desire to be loved, especially by God. However, we must remember that it is in giving that we receive. Jesus came as our Saviour; He was the Lamb of God who would take away the sins of the world. (John 1:29) John the forerunner of Jesus declared that while he baptised with water, Jesus would baptise with fire. This fire is the Holy Spirit which is given to all whom are walking righteously before God.   Before Jesus began His Ministry intensely, He went to John to be baptised. He was not baptised because He needed to show that He had renounced the sinful pleasures of this world because Jesus had no sin. He went through the procedure to show us the importance of being baptised.   While Jesus was standing in the water after His baptism, the Spirit of God came upon Him and a voice from heaven clearly declared ‘ This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased.’  (Matthew 3:16-17). This was God’s way of endorsing Jesus’ Ministry in the eyes of the people. God will do the same for us when we follow Jesus’ example.   Baptism  is such an important step , that one must be totally committed before doing it. The believer should also ensure that the proper procedure is followed. Sprinkling is not baptism; one must be immersed in water.   Notice that it was after the baptism that Jesus received the Holy Spirit. This is a lesson to make us aware, that it is after our total commitment has been expressed through baptism, that God will pour His blessings on us. The motive for us getting baptised is to show the world that we have buried the old man and is now walking and living a new life.   In Acts chapter 10 we read that Apostle Peter was sent to preach the gospel of salvation to the Gentiles. The Jews would not readily accept the Gentiles as members of the Body of Christ therefore they were shown an extraordinary sign. Cornelius and those to who Apostle Peter spoke received the gift of the Holy Ghost without being baptised. There is no record of this incident being repeated; God did it for a special purpose.   THE COMMISSION   At the end of His Ministry Jesus gave a commission. He said ‘ Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost .” Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo, I am with you always even unto the end of the world. ’ Matthew 28: 19-20  Every disciple of Christ is a propagator of the gospel. As an ambassador, believers must encourage the hearers of the word to repent and be baptised.   WHY BE BAPTISED?   Why should one be baptised? When we are baptised, we are baptised into Jesus’ death. Jesus became the sacrifice for sin. Man sinned willfully and Jesus also willingly gave His life to redeem us from sin to a life of righteousness (Hebrews 10:28). So, Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many.  Before Christ died animals were used as sacrifice for sin. This could not adequately cleanse us so Jesus came as our Rescuer. The songwriter asked, “Have you been to Jesus for the cleansing blood are you washed in the blood of the Lamb ?”   Baptism shows that we are buried with Christ and even as Christ was raised from the dead, so we rise from the water to walk in the newness of life. Therefore, when we are willing to be baptised, we are expressing our faith that Jesus died for our sins and was resurrected on the third day and is now ascended to His Father. Presently, He is sitting by His Father’s right-hand interceding for us.   Why reject this wonderful opportunity to become a member of God’s family? This is our only guarantee of being reconciled to God and obtaining eternal life. Be reminded that Romans 6:23 says, ‘ The wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. ’   HOW DID THE APOSTLES FULFIL THE COMMISSION?   The Apostles continued the Ministry after Christ’s ascension. They fearlessly expounded the gospel and led many to baptism. On the day of Pentecost, when Christ’s disciples were gathered in harmony with God and man, the Holy Spirit came as a mighty rushing wind and anointed the Saints. Apostle Peter declared the Ministry of Jesus to the hearers and thousands were convicted and repented of their sins. After their conviction they asked ‘ What shall we do? ’ Today, even as you read this tract, you may be asking a similar question. I encourage you give your heart in baptism to the Lord because tomorrow may not be yours to live.   After the hearers asked for spiritual guidance, Peter said unto them, ‘ Repent and be baptised every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.’ Acts 2:38. The listeners gladly accepted and about three thousand souls were baptised that day. God’s power led that multitude in submission; therefore, you too can be led. Today, as you hear His words, do not harden your heart.   The Church continued to grow as the followers of Christ ministered to sinners. Satan challenged the Ministry but God saved such as should be saved. The Gentiles gladly accepted the golden opportunity of salvation. When Peter saw how God worked in the lives of Cornelius and his family, he commanded that they be baptised in the name of the Lord. The Lord referred to here is Jesus Christ.   Phillip also baptised the Ethiopian eunuch. People everywhere saw the importance of being immersed in water depicting Christ’s death, burial and resurrection. They embraced the gospel of truth and light. They were eager to move out of darkness into the marvellous light of salvation. Would not it be good for you to make a similar decision today? Remember if you walk in darkness, you will stumble and fall.   In Acts 19 we read that Paul was passing through Ephesus and he saw some disciples. He asked them if they had received the Holy Ghost. They had not received it, so he asked how they were baptised. They told him that they were baptised according to John’s baptism.   Paul told them that John baptised with the baptism of repentance saying that they should believe on Jesus but it was now necessary to be baptised in the name of Jesus Christ. When the disciples heard this, they accepted re-baptism in the name of the Lord Jesus. Here we see that when one is not baptised in the name of Jesus Christ a second baptism is recommended.   WHY BAPTISE IN THE NAME OF LORD JESUS CHRIST ?   One may wonder how Jesus said baptism should be done in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit and the Apostles to whom He left the Ministry did not use those terms. Let us examine the term used and decide if they faithfully followed God’s commission. Remember Jesus said in the name of therefore we are to find the name. Who is the Father ? What is His name? in Isaiah 42:8 God said, ‘I am the Lord : that is my name.’   Who is the Son ? What is His name? Matthew 1:21 answers the question. It reads, ‘and she shall bring forth a son and thou shalt  call His name Jesus.   What is the Holy Spirit ? It is the power of God . Do you remember that after Jesus was baptised the Holy Spirit descended upon Him in the form of a dove. It was after this that He was declared to be Christ, the Anointed One. Jesus asked His disciples, who do men say that I the Son of man, am ? After their response, He asked them who was He. Peter answered, ‘ Thou art Christ, the Son of the living God. Jesus responded, Blessed art thou Simon Barjona, for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven . ’ (Matthew 16:13-17). Jesus told His disciples not to tell anyone that He was Jesus, the Christ.   Readers, there are several steps which lead to baptism. These are: hearing the words, believing, accepting, repentance, conversion, then baptism. Be reminded that Jesus was pure and sinless, yet He was baptised by John the Baptist in the River Jordan. Therefore, I implore you now to repent and be baptised for the remission of your sins. Baptism saves us and is the answer of a good conscience toward God . 1st. Peter 3:21   Prayer   Heavenly Father I come to You in the name of Jesus Christ my Redeemer. I thank You for granting me the opportunity to call You, Father. I pray that You will forgive me of my sins and inspire me daily. Lord, help me to keep my baptismal covenant with You and be a true follower of Christ. Thanks for washing me with the water and Thy word. Please grant me wisdom and strength to minister to others so that they will know about You. I love You Father. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.    Writer - A. E. FISHER We welcome your questions and feedback.  You may contact us at ofthelivinggodchurch@gmail.com

  • FORGIVE?????Should I???or Should I not???

http://www.pillarandgroundoftruth.online/ FORGIVE????? Should I??? or Should I not???   How often have you struggled with the hurt and disappointments which life throws at you? As you feel the pain you cannot decide whether or not to forgive those who had hurt you.   Today I want you to understand that you must let go. If you hold on to the pain and allow bitterness to grow, you will find it harder each day to forgive those who had offended you.   It does not matter what someone has done to you. You must let go or else your emotions shall hold you as a prisoner for the rest of your life.   Unforgiveness is like cancer it eats and destroys you; it takes away your joy. It prevents you from enjoying the goodness of life. It causes you to become cynical and bitter. Not only that, but you may become withdrawn, unwilling to trust others or become selfish. Unforgiveness is so destructive that you are not to accommodate it even for a short time.    Is there a time or a situation when you might choose to forgive and another when you might choose not to forgive?    What does the Bible say about the aptitude to forgive or not to forgive?   Matthew 18:21-35  Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven. Therefore, is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants. And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents. But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made. The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all. Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt. But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him a hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest. And his fellowservant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all. And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt. So, when his fellowservants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done. Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me: Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee? And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him. So likewise, shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not everyone his brother their trespasses.   How often have you sinned against someone and have desired the individual’s forgiveness? How did you react when you were forgiven? How did you react when you were not forgiven? At the time of the incident did you believe that you were deserving of forgiveness; do you still hold this belief?   The servant begged for the king’s forgiveness yet he was unwilling to forgive his friend. The friend owed him a lot less than what he had owed the king and he knew that his friend was in a worse position than himself, yet he refused to forgive the friend. Many of us are very unfair and hard-hearted.   We desire good for ourselves but withhold good from others. The king was very angry when he learnt about the servant’s wickedness. Therefore, the king withdrew his mercy and exacted judgement against the unforgiving servant.   Think about the effect of your behaviour before you commit an act. What goes around comes around. Jesus taught us to pray saying, “ Forgive, us our debts as we forgive our debtors.” (Matthew 6:12) Jesus further stated in Matthew 6:14-15, For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father, forgive your trespasses.   Isn’t it unfair that you would desire that someone forgives you but you are unwilling to forgive others. Or wouldn’t it hurt that you are exercising forgiveness to others while they are unforgiving towards you?  Yes, you may be experiencing mixed emotions but you must do what is godly, right and just.   Jesus tells you that if someone sins against you seventy times seven which is four hundred and ninety times in one day or as pertaining to an issue you ought to forgive the individual. This is showing you that forgiveness is not exercised in measure. This is not an advice for you to leave yourself open to the evil intents of others. You ought to exercise wisdom and protect yourself from future assaults but you must be merciful.   Some persons will tell you that if you have forgiven someone you should forget about the incident. To totally forget is very difficult unless you are suffering from amnesia. You will not altogether forget because it is etched in your memory but you are not to harp on the incident.   Remember that it is impossible for anyone to be more forgiving than God. In the Scriptures we read how God outlined the sins which the people had committed. Even though they had asked for His forgiveness and He had forgiven them He still reminded them of their sins when necessary. In Numbers 14:22, He could tell them the exact number of times that they had sinned against Him. He said, “ Because all those men which have seen my glory, and my miracles, which I did in Egypt and in the wilderness, and have tempted me now these ten times , and have not hearkened to my voice”   While Jesus was hanging on the cross surrounded by His tormentors and persecutors, He exclaimed, “ Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do . (Luke 23:34) This is the kind of love that believers in Christ must show.   Luke 6:32-36 tells us, For, if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them. And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same. And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again.  But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for He is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father, also is merciful.   Have you accepted Christ as your Saviour and Friend? Are you looking forward to His coming? Do you want to live forever with the Lord? If you do, you must forgive others and also forgive yourself in sincerity. Ask the Lord to give you a heart like His. Being born again includes having a forgiving heart. God be with you.   Prayer   Almighty God please help me to forgive everyone regardless of how deeply I have been hurt. I do not want to be an unjust person who needs forgiveness but is unwilling to forgive others. Please help me to also forgive myself of all my misdeeds. Thanks for Your amazing love. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.       Writer - A. E. FISHER We welcome your questions and feedback.  You may contact us at ofthelivinggodchurch@gmail.com

  • TRUE CONVERSION

https://www.pillarandgroundofthetruth.online/post/true-conversion DO I NEED TO CHANGE MY LIFESTYLE? DO I NEED TO BE CONVERTED?   None of us was born perfect and everyone needs to repent and accept Christ as our Lord and Saviour. When you accept Christ as your personal Saviour you will be obedient to God. This is a sign of conversion.   Nothing in life is static; there are always changes. This is also true of our individual lives. Our bodies change as we grow older and our lifestyle also changes.   God does not expect us to remain in any sinful condition because He has given us the chance to repent and be a better person.   Although it is important to do things which will cause physical changes for example males cutting their hair to ensure proper grooming the most essential change in your life is a spiritual change.   Man was made in the image of God but sin marred that image. Romans 8:5-8 reminds us, “ For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God .   The word carnal means to be sensual, wanton, lascivious, fleshly and animalistic. These verses are telling us that the natural person is more attuned to do wrong than to follow the precepts of God. Anyone who desires to obey God must become more attuned to God than with the world. One can only be attuned to God when one has been converted.   How can you know if you are converted or know that someone is converted? What is expected of a converted person? Is there possibility that one can be converted yet carnal?   Peter was a Disciple of Jesus and he loved the Lord. He was one of Jesus’ favourite workers, yet he had a problem. He believed that Jesus was the Messiah but he also thought that Jesus would set up His Kingdom right then on the earth and destroy the dominance of the Romans. Thus, it was that Peter’s focus was a little out of line. Jesus recognised that Peter had a good heart but needed special assistance.   We read in Luke 22: 31-32, “ And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.   At first because of his unconverted state, Peter was unable to properly complete the tasks God had called him to do. However, later when he was converted Jesus gave him, his mandate. Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou Me more than these? He saith unto Him, Yea, Lord; Thou knowest that I love Thee. He saith unto him, Feed My lambs. He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou Me? He saith unto Him, Yea, Lord; Thou knowest that I love Thee. He saith unto him, Feed My sheep. He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou Me? Peter was grieved because He said unto him the third time, Lovest thou Me? And he said unto Him, Lord, Thou knowest all things; Thou knowest that I love Thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed My sheep . (John 21:15-17)   Conversion was the changing point in Peter’s life. After his conversion he became a powerful Apostle of Christ. He was no longer afraid as he was when he denied Christ; he became very bold.   Zacchaeus was another converted soul. He was extremely happy when he met Jesus. While Jesus was speaking with him. he realized that he was unconverted and needed Christ. Zacchaeus then confessed his sins. He said, “ Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold. Jesus was pleased with him and told him, “ This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham. For the Son of Man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.   When you are converted, you will seek to make restitution. Restitution means to give back anything which you had stolen. If you had told a lie about someone you must now speak the truth about what you had done; if you stole money or kill someone you must publicly admit your actions.   There can be no conversion without restitution. Restitution clears the conscience and give you peace.   A converted soul is easily identified because that individual operates differently from the unconverted. Converted souls speak, eat, dress, talk, walk and think different from others. The change in their lives is both inward and outward. You ought to know that whatever is within your heart is displayed on the outside.   When Paul and Silas were imprisoned, they prayed and worshipped God and God delivered them with a mighty hand. There was an earthquake and a great shaking and the keeper of the prison thought that the prisoners had escape. He was about to commit suicide when the Apostle Paul called to him. The warder was relieved; then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas, And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house. And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway. And when he had brought them into his house, he set meat before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house.   The jailer truly repented and was converted. When he heard the word, he immediately accepted. On receiving the gospel, he immediately became an evangelist by taking the gospel to his household.   While Stephen was expounding the Gospel of Truth to the Jews, the people became extremely angry but their anger erupted when he told them that he saw Jesus standing on the right hand of God in heaven. When he spoke about what he saw the people began to stone him to death. Stephen called to God to receive his spirit. However, the most remarkable thing was that he asked the Lord not to lay the sin to the charge of the murderers. This showed that Stephen was truly converted.   The word of God clearly tells us how we ought to behave and how we can inherit eternal life. Acts 3:19 tells us, “ Repent  ye therefore, and be converted , that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord .”   Isaiah 55:7 advises, “ Let the wicked forsake  his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon .”   In Matthew 18:3 Jesus said, " Truly I say to you, unless you are converted and become like children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven.”   A converted heart is more willing to obey God than to satisfy carnal desires. Therefore, a converted heart will live by the Laws of God Psalms 19:7 - The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple. 2nd Corinthians 5:17 - Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. Luke 21:36 - Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.   Let us pray   Eternal Father, God of the Universe. Creator and Sustainer of all things. I give You the honour and majesty due to You.   Lord, I am grateful for the chance to be a new creature in Christ Jesus. I thank You that You did not give up on me while I was rebelling against You. How can I express my gratitude for the opportunity to be named a child of the Most High God. It is my desire to be Your ambassador. Help me to remain humble and obedient. Please help me to keep my eyes focused on godly things and not on the rudiments of this ungodly world. I am grateful that I am no longer held captive by my carnal desires. Father I can feel Your forgiving and renewing love. Thanks for giving me a clear conscience.  As I travel on this new journey, I know that there will be challenges but I am leaving everything in Your care. I ask that You continue to anoint me with Your power. Grant me the spiritual strength to keep on the garment of purity which You have placed on me. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.     Writer - A. E.
